The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen – Book Review

Have you ever read a book whose blurb gave away too much and kind of ruined your reading experience? The Wife Between Us did exactly that for me!

So here’s the blurb:

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.

After reading this blurb, when I started listening to the audio book I was ready to not assume anything in my mind. I was trying to figure out what the blurb meant. I was so engrossed in finding out the hidden twist that I seriously didn’t enjoy the first part of the book. And well, I did figure out the twist even before it was revealed. So it was kind of a meh moment for me instead of a wow moment. The twist would have been perfect if I wasn’t looking for it. So I blame the blurb for ruining the first part of the book!

But the book redeemed itself in the next two parts. Since I wasn’t looking out for any more twists I was able to enjoy rest of the book.

It is a fast paced, gripping and a thrilling read. I loved the character development and how each character was portrayed without giving away any of the twist. The twists at the end of part 2 and 3 was completely unexpected.

I’m not sure I can write anything more without spoilers. So let me just end my review with this. Go pick up this book right away. And don’t think about the blurb while reading it.

My Rating: 4.5⭐/5.
