July has been a good month reading wise. I took The Death of Mrs Westaway from the library few months back but did not read. When it was time to go for my annual vacation to India, initially I decided to return all the library books. But then I thought, why not renew at least 2 of the books and take them with me. That’s how this book came with me to India.

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. This title is what grabbed my attention when I heard about the book for the first time. Reviews by fellow bookworms convinced me that this is a book I shouldn’t miss.
This year, I seem to have read many books by authors I haven’t read before. Eoin Colfer, Tahereh Mafi, Anthony Horowitz, Lisa Jewel, Riley Sager to name a few. Lock Every Door has been on my TBR since last year. Ever since I saw this on Bookstagram last year, I knew this is a book that I will love.
The House of Silk is a Sherlock Holmes novel by Anthony Horowitz. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical before starting the book. I don’t know why but I was not sure whether I would like the book. How wrong I was!!
The book was amazing and I’m so glad that I read it. It gave me all the Dan Brown feels while reading especially The Da Vinci Code with an Indian twist. Other than the overall deja vu feeling, the book was completely different from The Da Vinci Code.
What She Knew was a random pick at the book fair in Jan. I had not heard about the book or the author. The blurb was great and so was the price! Didn’t think twice before buying it. I’m so glad I picked this up.
Clive Cussler is another author whose books, especially the Dirk Pitt series, have been recommended to me many times due to my love for action. I haven’t yet read any books featuring Dirk Pitt but I managed to get hold of my first Cussler book, The Race, which features Isaac Bell.
Agatha Christie is still a mystery to me! Anyone who knows I love mysteries have suggested her books. I have tried to like her books but somehow they don’t live up to my expectations. Maybe I’m yet to read the right book! Or my expectations are too high!
